Description
"REFLECTIONS IN SILVER"
A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural or man-made. Still life gives the artist more freedom in the arrangement of elements within a composition than do paintings of other types of subjects such as landscape or portraiture.
This is an original hand painted oil on board of a small silver pitcher amid beautiful purple and blue hydrangeas set on a highly polished cherry table painted from life. The beautiful little old silver pitcher was quite tarnished in places, so despite the title of this painting, it really wasn't reflecting all that well. Also, the photograph doesn't quite show the lovely reflections of the flowers on the table.

I like the soft lavender colors, reflected in the metal of the silver pitcher. It’s a nice interplay of cool metal and soft blossoms.
